reIgniteJoCo 2019 CvHS has ended
Reminder you will be building your own credit at the close of this event.  Each session will count 1.2 hours towards your credit.  You will collect certificates throughout the event to submit in MyLearningPlan at the conclusion of reIGNITE 2019. Digital Sessions will require the Digital Learning Artifact: bit.ly/jcpsdlcartifact.

Note: If you are attending with your PLC members you might consider signing up for the same reIGNITE Calibration session (Learn 1) so that you can have common language in the coming year.

Target Audience (Elementary, Secondary, Other): 
Elementary Grade Teachers, Middle Grade Teachers, Coaches/Leaders

Learning Objectives & Rationale: 
Participants will:
- understand what STEM/STEAM is and why it is important to integrate into the classroom
- learn about STEM/STEAM tools that will be equitable for integration and student-centered learning.
- working in groups and individual participants will participate in a STEM technology playground with different lesson examples.
- participants will have access to an infographic with hyperdocs.

Description: 
Participants will be introduced to STEAM/STEM and its importance in being an integral part of the 21st-century classroom. We will learn the first layer of a STEM/STEAM Culture classroom by looking at the 4 Cs. We will be introduced to free STEM tools and resources to enhance student learning. We will learn how to build wonder, establish challenges, spark interest all while solving a problem. Participants will be introduced to free STEM resources that include lessons that meet standards.

Modalities/Implementation Practices: 
Participants will need a mobile device to interact; phone, ipad, laptop. I will deliver via a chromebook and smartboard (a remote if available). I will model how participants are to interact with the different STEM/STEAM lessons. There will be at least one group e and at least one individual lesson.
