Target Audience (Elementary, Secondary, Other): Any Grade, Coaches/Leaders Learning Objectives & Rationale: Participants will learn how a school garden can benefit students and how teachers can utilize the garden to bring the curriculum to life.
Description: Content will include a brief informational session about our garden and how we were able to add it to our yard. Then, participants will engage in hands on learning experiences that they can do with their students that incorporate the garden into their curriculum. These experiences will show teachers that agricultural education is a fun and easy way to teach their standards. Modalities/Implementation Practices: First, will be a presentation of our DRES garden and how we funded it with a quick Q&A on how to start one at their school. Then we will do a few lessons where the participants will act as the students and learn multiple curriculum concepts through hands on activities.
