reIgniteJoCo 2019 CvHS has ended
Reminder you will be building your own credit at the close of this event.  Each session will count 1.2 hours towards your credit.  You will collect certificates throughout the event to submit in MyLearningPlan at the conclusion of reIGNITE 2019. Digital Sessions will require the Digital Learning Artifact: bit.ly/jcpsdlcartifact.

Note: If you are attending with your PLC members you might consider signing up for the same reIGNITE Calibration session (Learn 1) so that you can have common language in the coming year.

Target Audience (Elementary, Secondary, Other): 
Any Grade, counselors, social workers, psychologists

Learning Objectives & Rationale: 
Participants will acquire an understand of the science behind mindfulness and the benefits of its practice for themselves, as teachers, and their students. Through the practice of mindfulness, participates will also develop practical skills in building resilience, compassion and empathy and in teaching these same skills to students / supporting students in doing the same. 

Description: 
Learn how to transform your classroom into a calmer more learner friendly environment by integrating mindfulness into your work with your students.  Mindfulness practice in the classroom can improve students´ emotional regulation, focus and engagement as well as help build positive connections between students and staff. Participants will engage in several mindfulness activities and leave with resources that they can use to implement in their classrooms.
