Learning Objectives & Rationale: Teachers will leave with a general format to use with STEM activities for all ages. They will see how doing these activities can be used to assess Math and ELA standards and are not limited to just Science content.
Description: Participants will explore how to use a simple format that can be used with a variety of activities to help students of all ages develop the skills necessary to be reflective thinkers. We will practice applying STEM rules and job descriptions to an actual STEM lesson. Budget friendly resources for elementary grades will be available for teachers to preview. Bring your thinking caps and be ready to be challenged!
Modalities/Implementation Practices: Brief explanation of procedures and then have participants completing a STEM activity as if they were the student. Challenge task could be added to tasks to show how the same lesson could be used at different grade levels or with different abilities within a classroom.
