Reminder you will be building your own credit at the close of this event. Each session will count 1.2 hours towards your credit. You will collect certificates throughout the event to submit in MyLearningPlan at the conclusion of reIGNITE 2019. Digital Sessions will require the Digital Learning Artifact: bit.ly/jcpsdlcartifact.
Note: If you are attending with your PLC members you might consider signing up for the same reIGNITE Calibration session (Learn 1) so that you can have common language in the coming year.
Learning Objectives & Rationale: Participants will engage themselves with the idea that you can fit personalized learning in your classroom. Teachers will explore a personalized learning journey taken by someone just like you (a classroom teacher!) who lived and breathed the process. Listen to the journey from the start of a great idea, to the implementation, redirection, and self-reflection of the unit and how I made it work! When participants leave this session they will feel ready to try personalized learning in their classroom in the coming year, even in a small setting, and how to weave it in with what you are already doing to enhance the learning in their classrooms.
Description: My session will focus on my journey through personalized learning. From the beginning stages of what to do through reflecting and fixing the units as I went along with my team. I will show teachers an example of what personalized learning could look like in a classroom. I believe that this will help teachers see how you could actually fit personalized learning into their classroom. It will enable students to be more self-aware of their strengths and weaknesses as well as engaging them through some technology use and knowledge that they start where they need to be.
Modalities/Implementation Practices: I will be using Google Slides, videos of how my unit worked in the classroom, as well as hard copies of my units to show as an example.
