Learning Objectives & Rationale: Participants will see the importance of relationships between themselves, their families & the community in an effort to more actively engage those who support their students.
Description: Participants will receive an overview of family and community engagement. Working collaboratively, we will identify some typical school-family structures, and brainstorm ways to mitigate barriers for engagement. Discussions within teams will look at ways to identify families' preferences & needs, then move to intentional planning to meet these needs. Session will be suitable for school teams, and schools with Spring 2019 Panorama data will have an opportunity to disaggregate & plan with this information. This session will be all about thinking, brainstorming, problem identification & solution.
Modalities/Implementation Practices: Active teaching, brainstorming, hands on activities, planning, participants will identify & work towards a learning target for the session.
