Reminder you will be building your own credit at the close of this event.  Each session will count 1.2 hours towards your credit.  You will collect certificates throughout the event to submit in MyLearningPlan at the conclusion of reIGNITE 2019. Digital Sessions will require the Digital Learning Artifact: bit.ly/jcpsdlcartifact.

Note: If you are attending with your PLC members you might consider signing up for the same reIGNITE Calibration session (Learn 1) so that you can have common language in the coming year.

Learning Objectives & Rationale: 
There is much adieu about social and emotional learning and the effects on the classroom. Actually, making the SEL(Social and Emotional Learning)  and behavior modifications are similar to a delicate dance carried out by only the brave. The participants will take away real life examples of success and failures with regards to SEL. Grounded research and strategies will be offered as well as creating a community to grow together.

How in the world am I supposed to have time for one more thing? Sounds like the mantra of nearly all of us in education right now, doesn't it. However, brain research has shown that with just a simple relationship an understanding of the student outside the classroom can have a tremendous impact on their ability to learn. Take some time to join us in a “real” conversation about what this can look like without letting go of the academics and without allowing the student to use their emotions as a crutch or an excuse.
