Reminder you will be building your own credit at the close of this event.  Each session will count 1.2 hours towards your credit.  You will collect certificates throughout the event to submit in MyLearningPlan at the conclusion of reIGNITE 2019. Digital Sessions will require the Digital Learning Artifact: bit.ly/jcpsdlcartifact.

Note: If you are attending with your PLC members you might consider signing up for the same reIGNITE Calibration session (Learn 1) so that you can have common language in the coming year.

 Learning Objectives & Rationale: 
I plan for teachers to walk away from the session with the knowledge of how to use MAPSkills to personalize instruction for all students. Through MAP Skills, a teacher can easily fill in the gaps for all students and meet the needs of each child. MAP helps increase student engagement by keeping their learning relevant and fun! Through discussions, teachers will learn the “what” and “why” of MAP Skills and will brainstorm ways to incorporate the program into their math instruction to increase student engagement and the relevance of their work.  Teachers will rotate through stations to:
1. See how to use reports to determine which areas a student needs additional practice.
2. Learn how to assign Skill Locators through MAP.
3. Learn how to assign resources and mastery checks for students.
4. Learn how to monitor each students' growth. 

Are you looking for a way to personalize instruction for every student in your classroom without adding to your workload? Do you want to learn how to easily increase student achievement and engagement? Have you heard of MAP but would like to learn how to make MAP Skills manageable to incorporate into your daily instruction? This session will give you the tools and confidence that you need in order to incorporate MAP Skills into your classroom math instruction to make learning relevant and fun for every child. Student achievement can be shown through their progress with MAP Skills and on MAP benchmark testing. Student engagement will increase as students are learning skills that are relevant to their needs through fun instructional games and resources.

Modalities/Implementation Practices: 
In a whole group discussion, teachers will learn the “what” and “why” of MAP Skills. As well as brainstorm and have discussions about how to use MAP Skills in their classroom instruction. Teachers will then rotate through stations to learn how to set up MAP Skills and use it in their classrooms.
