Reminder you will be building your own credit at the close of this event. Each session will count 1.2 hours towards your credit. You will collect certificates throughout the event to submit in MyLearningPlan at the conclusion of reIGNITE 2019. Digital Sessions will require the Digital Learning Artifact: bit.ly/jcpsdlcartifact.
Note: If you are attending with your PLC members you might consider signing up for the same reIGNITE Calibration session (Learn 1) so that you can have common language in the coming year.
Learning Objectives & Rationale: Essential questions: 1. What are our values, and how do they manifest in how we behave and ask others to behave? 2. How do we communicate these values in our expectations? 3. How do we respond when there is a disconnect? 4. How can the restorative process assist us in aligning and bridging the gap?
Description: Student engagement is something we have seen at a high level, and we believe it is largely because of the voice they have in the process of how things are set up, how our values are discussed, and how we as a community will handle when issues arise. When students feel valued and safe to express their perspective and problem-solve, they are free to learn. It's brain science. We will provide relevant examples of how it works for us.
Modalities/Implementation Practices: In addition to discussion among participants, there will be graphics shared for interpretation, video clips, and practice with real scenarios.
