Testing Accommodations: What's Up with That? AVAILABLE

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity seats available

Learning Objectives & Rationale:
All participants will have a better understanding of their role as a regular education or exceptional teacher when choosing/assigning testing accommodations for their students. One accommodation does not fit all students or needs in the classroom and some accommodations can actually be a hindrance. We will explore the research behind testing accommodations and how we can improve in personalizing for our students.

Have you ever wondered how testing accommodations are decided upon for your students or which accommodations are necessary for student success? Is it a "One Size Fits All" decision? Have you ever wondered what the implications are for a student to be assigned testing accommodations? We will explore the research behind the accommodations allowed on state testing and how they can be helpful, harmful (to some students), and how we can work towards a common understanding of what "individual" really means in terms of testing accommodations.

Modalities/Implementation Practices:
Whole group, small group, visual, written, speaking
