Learning Objectives & Rationale: Participants will: -learn what a personalized pathway is. -experience a personalized pathway. -begin modifying a pathway to fit their content/grade level.
Description: This year I developed a personalized playlist for the ELA teachers at my school. The pathway was developed using interest inventory information from a 6th grade class. The students I witnessed were highly engaged. Each student has five different interest paths that could be followed. In each path there were 8 different articles students could choose to guide their path. I kept the class together by assigning the same types of activities. Students proceed down the path making the decisions about how to make their products and pieces connect to the original article. The session will start with an interest inventory, time to experience the project, and time to apply the ideas to different content areas and grade levels.
Modalities/Implementation Practices: You will need a device to fully experience the learning. We will be using Google products throughout the session to explore an interest inventory, experience a premade pathway, and modify a pathway to meet the needs of your classroom.
